Senior Software Developer

Position: Senior Software Developer

Location: Brisbane QLD

Salary: $95,000 + superannuation

Full-time position

To be considered for this role you should have the following experience and qualifications:

• At least 8 years experience developing complex web applications as part of a team. You should have worked the full-stack of the application, from modifying the database, creating services and exposing them through RESTful APIs, to updating the CSS and Javascript UI.

• At least 5 years experience using Ruby. Strong Ruby on Rails experience, with hands-on, test-driven development with RSpec, Spinach/Cucumber in a continuous integration environment.

• Strong experience with a javascript framework/library like Ember, Angular or React.

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, with demonstrated skills in database design, SQL query

performance and optimisation.

• Experience in the property industry preferred.

• Strong experience integrating systems with external institutions like payment gateways and banks.

• You subscribe to software engineering principles that lead to building software that is maintainable and easily extensible.

• Experience building responsive SPA applications.

• Familiarity with location-based services is preferred.

• Bachelor of Information Technology or similar required.

Position responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality full-stack code that scales

• Interpret requirements and develop required functionality as requested

• Provide full agile development services including scoping meetings, coding, testing, and documentation

• Provide input and suggestions on how products can be architected using proven technologies that scale

• Apply high-quality engineering principles and standards, with a focus on software longevity and low total cost of ownership for the company.

• Provide estimates on development effort, and commit and deliver to estimated timeframes or communicate variances and issues to the relevant scrum master

• Providing feedback and development opportunities for potential improvements

• Work as part of a global and cross-functional team
